Day #6
Snuggling under the quilt to ward off the cool morning air, I pulled up the weather app on my phone to discover that the temperature was 50 degrees at 7:15 a.m.
After our morning "get-it-together" routine, we headed out to tour the country side. At 9:00 a.m. the temperature had risen to a warm 57 degrees.
As we traveled along a county road to Hammondsport, we noticed that there were not road names, just house numbers on mail boxes. Through Hammondsport, toward Watkins Glen we noticed vineyards. It soon became evident that we were in wine country, tows upon rows, upon acres and acres of grape vines on both sides of the road. There seemed to be a winery around every curve.
Driving on toward Watkins Glen, we noticed that continues to be no road signs, just "identification" signs. "Church", "Cemetery", "School", "Crossroads", "Driveway" - it wasn't like we couldn't identify the place by the name of the church or school or crossroads.
